The Atitlan Music School is happy to have the following individuals involved in the direction of the school.
Eric Leikam is a 35-year veteran of broadcasting in Houston, New Orleans and Austin. He is a working Austin-based musician singer songwriter. One of Eric's songs was recorded by Steve Ulrich. Eric is also an actor who's appeared in commercials, video games and films. He's the author of the book Soul Blurts. Eric is honored to serve on the board of AMS.
Greg Martin is communications manager for Healthisight, a Portland-based nonprofit consulting company dedicated to healthcare quality improvement. He has performed music for many years in many different settings, including with Steve Ulrich and his bands."
Caroline Sinclair worked for 30+ years in (Texas) state government, higher education and for other non-profit organizations. She is currently working at being retired, with varying degrees of success. For years, she opened her home to musicians who enriched (and sometimes complicated) her life. Caroline welcomes this opportunity to be part of this worthwhile organization which brings music instruction to children and adults in Guatemala and hopes to someday visit the school. She lives in the Austin, TX area and travels to faraway lands whenever possible.
Richard Parke is a retired computer consultant and a busy musician and composer. He gardens and builds cabins, is a grandfather, and encourages mindfulness for all people and respect for animals. Richard is proud to support music in Central America".
Terrence (Joe) Wakely is a retired airline pilot ,poet and writer. Joe is a native of St Paul Mn and presently lives in Panajachel Guatemala. During the summer months Joe operates a fishing boat on Lake Superior and is a hunter and guide during the fall. Joe has varied interests including health care, child nutrition, water treatment processes and of course music.
David Sherman was born in Brooklyn and raised on Long Island. A writer, musician, and international educator, his teaching career has spanned five countries and four continents. He has taught music in Albuquerque, Marrakesh, Shenzhen, Vienna, and Panajachel. A multi-instrumentalist specializing in piano, David has toured nationally as a keyboardist with the Pink Flamingos, and has done solo shows as a singer-songwriter across the world.
Steve Ulrich is a songwriter/singer. He spent early years in Minneapolis and raised a family in Austin Tx. Steve is also manager of communications for HealthInsight, Oregon. He and his wife Elisabeth moved to Guatemala in 2010 and Steve has been working on the music school project for four years. Steve Ulrich Singer Songwriter
